Blade Craftsmanship

• Steel Material: Forged from 1095 high carbon steel, known for excellent hardness and edge retention. This steel type is highly regarded for functional swords that hold a razor-sharp edge.

• Forging Process: Hand-forged, heat-treated, tempered, and oil-quenched for durability. The blade has been polished to a mirror finish, enhancing both its beauty and cutting efficiency.

• Design:

  • Shinogi-Zukuri geometry – the classic samurai sword profile.

  • BO HI groove – reduces overall weight, improves balance, and produces a crisp “tachikaze” (whistle sound) when swung.

  • Yokote line – a distinct separation at the tip, representing proper katana geometry.

  • Cutting edge (Ha) – extremely sharp (can be customized to unsharpened).

While this blade does not feature a visible hamon, the heat treatment ensures a hard cutting edge with a resilient spine.
