The Blade: High-Performance 1095 Folded Steel
The core of this exceptional sword is forged from high-carbon 1095 folded steel. Through a specialized folding process, the steel gains unique grain patterns (Hada) and is oil-quenched and tempered for optimal hardness and flexibility. The blade features a striking red color treatment, a distinct Shinogi-Zukuri shape, a single geometric bohi (groove) to reduce weight and improve balance, and a defined yokote (tip line). The surface is mirror-polished to a brilliant shine, highlighting the flawless, sharp edge.
The Mountings: The Ferocious Tiger Theme
This Katana features a cohesive Tiger motif across all its alloy fittings, including the Tsuba (guard), Fuchi (sleeve), Kashira (pommel), and Menuki (handle ornament). The tiger symbolizes strength, courage, and power in Japanese culture, making it a fitting theme for a warrior's weapon.
The Handle & Scabbard (Tsuka & Saya)
The Tsuka (handle) is wrapped in vibrant red genuine rayskin (Samegawa) and tightly bound with black synthetic silk Tsuka-Ito using the traditional Hineri-Maki style, ensuring a secure, comfortable grip. The blade is secured safely by two bamboo Mekugi (pegs) into a full tang structure.
The Saya (scabbard) boasts a dramatic red and black speckled finish, perfectly complemented by a black and red spotted synthetic silk Sageo cord.
