Handmade 1060 High Carbon Steel Katana with Red Rayskin and Cherry Blossom Fittings

This hand-forged Japanese katana sword is crafted from 1060 high carbon steel, a durable and resilient material widely used for martial arts training and cutting practice. The blade is Shinogi-Zukuri in shape with a single bohi (groove), a defined yokote tip, and a mirror polished finish that highlights the craftsmanship. The sword is full tang, secured with two bamboo mekugi, ensuring strength and safety during use.

The handle (tsuka) is wrapped in black leather ito (hineri-maki style) over genuine red rayskin (samegawa), creating both a visually striking contrast and a comfortable grip. The fittings feature sakura (cherry blossom) tsuba, fuchi, and kashira, while the menuki is decorated with a bamboo motif, symbolizing resilience and growth.

The saya (scabbard) is a black gloss lacquered sheath with subtle red streak patterns, paired with a black sageo with red dots for added elegance. Brass habaki and seppa complete the mounting.

Each sword is hand-forged, hand-polished, and oil quenched by skilled artisans. The katana comes with a free sword bag and certificate of authenticity.
