Hand-Forged T10 Steel Katana
Combining a clean traditional appearance with dependable functional construction, this hand-forged T10 steel katana features a mirror-polished blade, bo-hi groove, genuine white rayskin and classic black fittings.
The blade is forged from T10 high-carbon steel and oil quenched for a durable and reliable structure. Its traditional shinogi-zukuri blade profile is complemented by a bo-hi, helping reduce unnecessary blade weight while preserving the characteristic appearance of a Japanese katana.
Black tsuka-ito wrapped over genuine white samegawa creates a striking contrast, while the glossy black saya and samurai-inspired fittings give the sword a refined, understated finish.
Key Features
T10 High-Carbon Steel Blade
The blade is hand forged from T10 high-carbon steel, a popular steel for functional Japanese-style swords due to its combination of hardness, durability and edge performance.
This model is oil quenched and does not feature a clay-tempered hamon, giving the blade a clean and highly polished appearance.
Shinogi-Zukuri Blade Geometry
The blade follows the traditional shinogi-zukuri form commonly associated with Japanese katana. Its defined ridge line and balanced proportions create a classic sword profile suitable for both display and functional use.
Bo-Hi Groove
A carefully formed bo-hi runs along the blade. The groove helps reduce overall blade weight and influences handling while maintaining the traditional visual character of the sword.
Mirror-Polished Finish
The blade receives a clean mirror polish that highlights the lines and geometry of the sword without the use of an artificial hamon.
Full Tang Construction
The blade extends through the tsuka in a full tang construction. The handle assembly is secured with two traditional bamboo mekugi, providing a strong and serviceable structure.
Genuine White Rayskin Samegawa
The wooden tsuka core is covered with genuine white rayskin. Black synthetic silk ito is wrapped over the samegawa in traditional hineri-maki style, creating the distinctive black-and-white appearance of this katana.
Samurai-Inspired Fittings
The koshirae incorporates decorative elements inspired by traditional Japanese warrior culture and architecture.
- Samurai-themed tsuba
- Decorative fuchi and kashira
- Traditional-style menuki
- Brass habaki and seppa
- Black and white coordinated mounting
Glossy Black Saya
The wooden saya is finished in a smooth glossy black appearance and paired with a black sageo. The understated finish complements the white samegawa and allows the blade and fittings to remain the visual focus.
