Reverse-Edged Blade
Single-edged swords are made with the edge of one side of the blade. The way these swords are held or used emphasizes hitting the opponent with only that side of the sword. Reverse-edged swords use the same design but switch the blunt and cutting edges of the blade. The same general curvature and blade design are still maintained. When used, the reverse-edged sword would made the blunt rather than the cutting edge paramount. The term reverse blade sword refers to any sword where the cutting edge is on the opposite side of the blade from the traditional location. Since double-edged swords already have blades on both sides of the blade, only a single-edged sword could be made with a reverse blade. Traditionally, these types of swords are used for training purposes.
Hanbon forge swords are all hand forged with high carbon steel and folded steel. All of the blades are hand polished and hand sharpened. These japanese swords are good for cutting practice.
