Hand-Forged T10 Dragon Katana – Full Tang Japanese Samurai Sword
The HanBon Forge HB352 Dragon Katana combines a functional T10 high-carbon steel blade with coordinated dragon-themed fittings and a traditional full-tang construction.
Designed for collectors who appreciate both Japanese sword craftsmanship and detailed decorative themes, this katana features an engraved dragon blade, matching dragon koshirae, genuine rayskin panels, and a polished black saya with complementary dragon decoration.
Each sword is individually forged, polished, fitted, assembled, and inspected before leaving our workshop.
T10 High-Carbon Steel Blade
The blade is hand forged from T10 high-carbon steel, a tool steel widely used in functional sword construction for its hardness, edge retention, and ability to take a refined polish.
After heat treatment, the blade is carefully polished to create a clean, bright surface that highlights both its geometry and the engraved dragon motif.
- Blade Steel: T10 High-Carbon Steel
- Construction: Hand Forged, Full Tang
- Heat Treatment: Fully Heat Treated
- Finish: Hand Polished
- Blade Detail: Engraved Dragon Motif
- Sharpness: Available Hand Sharpened or Unsharpened
Dragon-Engraved Blade
A detailed dragon motif is engraved along the blade, giving the sword a strong visual identity without overwhelming the traditional katana profile.
The dragon has long been associated in East Asian art with strength, authority, protection, and vitality. Here, the engraving becomes the central design element and is carried through the fittings and saya for a consistent overall theme.
Coordinated Dragon-Themed Koshirae
The sword is assembled with a complete set of dragon-themed fittings, creating a unified appearance from blade to saya.
- Tsuba: Detailed alloy dragon guard
- Fuchi & Kashira: Coordinated dragon-style fittings
- Menuki: Matching decorative elements beneath the ito
- Tsuka: Traditional-style wrapped handle
- Samegawa: Genuine white rayskin panels
- Tsuka-Ito: Coffee-brown wrapping
- Saya: Gloss black scabbard with matching dragon decoration
The restrained black, white, and brown color combination keeps the sword traditional in appearance while allowing the dragon details to stand out clearly.
Full Tang Construction
The blade extends through the length of the tsuka in a traditional full tang construction. The handle assembly is secured with two bamboo mekugi pins to provide a stable connection between the blade and tsuka.
This is a functional construction rather than the short welded tang commonly found on purely decorative swords.

A Balanced Collector's Katana
The HB352 is designed for customers who want a traditional katana silhouette with more visual character than a completely minimalist sword.
The engraved blade and coordinated dragon koshirae give the sword a distinctive identity, while the T10 steel blade, full tang construction, genuine rayskin, and hand assembly preserve the functional qualities expected from a handmade Japanese-style sword.
It is particularly suitable for collectors, display collections, themed sword sets, and enthusiasts seeking a dragon katana with functional construction rather than a purely decorative wall-hanger.
Optional Hand Sharpening
This katana can be ordered either unsharpened or hand sharpened. Please select your preferred option before adding the sword to your cart.
If you have additional requirements for engraving, blade configuration, fittings, saya, handle wrapping, or other details, please leave a note with your order or contact HanBon Forge before purchasing.
