The Han Jian sword has been constructed from differentially hardened forge folded 1060 carbon steel with no hi (blood grooves). The blade features 8,192 layers of steel, giving the blade visible beautiful hada. The red color on blade surface is special treated by electroplating. The blade is repeatedly heat treated and hand forged to remove impurities, which gives it strength and flexibility. The hande core is made of hard wood which is tightly wrapped with black ito. The scabbard is high quality black ebony with silver plating mountings. This sword is full tang, functional and battle ready.
