This Handmade Japanese Katana Sword is a masterful representation of authentic Japanese swordsmithing. Forged and polished by hand, this katana combines folded steel craftsmanship, clay tempering, and meticulous detailing for superior sharpness, durability, and aesthetics.
Each blade undergoes a traditional clay tempering process, resulting in a real Choji Hamon pattern that symbolizes harmony between strength and elegance. The sword is not only functional and battle-ready but also serves as a fine collectible for enthusiasts of Japanese culture.
Blade & Construction
The blade is hand-forged from folded steel and differentially hardened through clay tempering, creating a visible and authentic Choji Hamon.
It features an O-kissaki (extended blade tip) for improved cutting performance and visual balance.
Constructed as a full tang katana, it provides remarkable stability and power, making it suitable for:
Martial arts and Iaido practice
Tameshigiri (cutting practice)
Display and sword collection
Handle (Tsuka)
The tsuka (handle) is wrapped in deep blue tsuka-ito over genuine ray skin (samegawa).
The traditional Hishigami wrapping technique ensures perfect symmetry, a secure grip, and long-lasting durability.
Every detail is hand-finished for both beauty and comfort, delivering the classic HanBon Forge attention to craftsmanship.
Saya (Scabbard)
The handcrafted saya (scabbard) features:
Bull Horn Korikata (saya knot)
Bull Horn Koiguchi (scabbard mouth)
Bull Horn Kojiri (scabbard end)
These elegant natural horn fittings add sophistication, durability, and a touch of authenticity to the design.
Fittings (Koshirae)
Each katana includes premium-quality fittings:
Iron Tsuba (guard), Fuchi, and Kashira
Brass Menuki (ornamental handle pieces)
Red Copper Habaki (blade collar) and Seppas (spacers)
The contrasting red copper adds warmth and depth to the aesthetic, harmonizing perfectly with the blue handle wrapping and polished steel blade.
