Yoriichi Sword – Hand-Forged T10 Steel Demon Slayer Nichirin Katana
Inspired by Yoriichi Tsugikuni’s Nichirin sword from Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba, this handmade katana recreates the character’s distinctive black-and-red sword while using the materials and construction of a real Japanese-style sword.
At its core is a hand-forged T10 high-carbon steel blade with a black finish and striking red flame design. The sword is built with a full tang construction, genuine rayskin samegawa, leather tsuka-ito, two bamboo mekugi and a custom painted hardwood saya.
Rather than being made as a lightweight costume prop, this Yoriichi sword is individually assembled as a real-steel katana for Demon Slayer collectors, sword enthusiasts, display and cosplay. An optional hand-sharpened edge is also available.

Inspired by Yoriichi Tsugikuni
Yoriichi Tsugikuni is one of the most important swordsmen in Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba and is closely associated with the origins of Sun Breathing.
His Nichirin sword is immediately recognizable for its dramatic dark blade and red flame-like appearance. This HanBon Forge interpretation preserves that unmistakable visual identity while replacing lightweight costume materials with a hand-forged carbon-steel blade and traditional Japanese-style sword construction.
The result is a Yoriichi sword designed not only to look impressive on display, but also to provide the weight, structure and presence expected from a real steel katana.
Hand-Forged T10 High-Carbon Steel Blade
The blade is hand forged from T10 high-carbon steel, a steel widely used for functional Japanese-style swords because it can achieve excellent hardness, strength and edge retention when properly heat treated.
Each blade is individually forged, shaped, polished and fitted before final assembly. Unlike decorative anime swords made from plastic, foam, thin stainless steel or lightweight alloy, this sword uses a genuine carbon-steel blade.
The blade can be ordered unsharpened for collection and display, or with professional hand sharpening for customers who prefer a real cutting edge.
Black Blade with Red Flame Design
The defining feature of this Yoriichi katana is its dramatic black blade with red flame detailing.
The dark blade is produced using a specialized chemical treatment rather than ordinary surface paint, creating a more integrated appearance on the steel. The red flame motif completes the distinctive Sun Breathing-inspired design.
Because each blade is individually finished, minor variations in color, texture and pattern may occur. These variations are normal characteristics of handmade production.
Full Tang Construction with Double Mekugi
This sword uses a full tang blade, meaning the steel tang extends through the tsuka rather than ending behind the tsuba.
The handle assembly is secured with two bamboo mekugi. This construction provides a substantially more authentic Japanese-style sword assembly than decorative swords using short welded tangs or molded handles.
The tsuka can also be removed when necessary for inspection and maintenance.
Genuine Rayskin & Leather Tsuka-Ito
The wooden tsuka core is covered with genuine rayskin samegawa rather than plastic imitation rayskin.
Leather tsuka-ito is tightly wrapped over the samegawa in a traditional Japanese-style diamond pattern, providing a secure grip while giving the handle a more substantial and refined appearance.
The combination of real samegawa, leather wrapping and bamboo mekugi helps distinguish this sword from mass-produced anime display replicas.
Yoriichi-Inspired Tsuba & Fittings
The katana is fitted with a distinctive custom tsuba and matching sword fittings inspired by Yoriichi’s Nichirin sword.
These components are individually fitted during assembly and checked before shipment to make sure the tsuba, tsuka, fittings and blade are securely assembled.
Custom Hardwood Saya
A custom painted hardwood saya is included with the sword. Its design is coordinated with the blade and fittings to preserve the recognizable appearance of Yoriichi’s sword.
The wooden construction also provides a more traditional feel than the plastic scabbards commonly found on costume replicas.
