This hand-forged T10 steel katana combines a traditionally shaped Shinogi-Zukuri blade with a genuine Choji Hamon, O-Kissaki, and Hazuya polishing. Its black and gold braided Tsuka-Ito, wave-themed iron fittings, round wagon-wheel tsuba, and brilliant gold-flecked lacquered Saya create a distinctive appearance while retaining the traditional character of a Japanese-style sword.

The blade is clay tempered and oil quenched, with a full tang construction and two bamboo Mekugi. The handle uses genuine antiqued rayskin over a hard wood core and is finished with a tight Hineri-Maki wrap using premium two-tone black and gold braided cord.

T10 Steel Blade with Genuine Choji Hamon

The blade is forged from T10 steel and formed in the Shinogi-Zukuri style. It features a pronounced Yokote and an O-Kissaki, giving the blade a classic Japanese sword profile. The blade has no Bo-Hi, maintaining a clean and substantial appearance along the Shinogi and Ji.

A genuine Choji Hamon is produced through clay tempering before oil quenching. The Hamon creates a distinctive temper-line pattern along the cutting edge and adds visual depth to the polished blade. The blade is finished with Hazuya polishing to highlight the steel and Hamon.

Cutting Edge: The standard blade is very sharp and can be customized to an unsharp version upon request.

Black and Gold Hineri-Maki Tsuka

The handle is wrapped with premium two-tone black and gold braided cord in a tight traditional Hineri-Maki style. The contrasting colors give the Tsuka a refined appearance while keeping the traditional diamond-pattern wrapping associated with Japanese sword construction.

Under the wrapping is antiqued genuine rayskin (Samegawa) mounted over a hard wood Tsuka core. Two bamboo Mekugi secure the full tang inside the handle, providing a traditional construction detail.

Wagon-Wheel Tsuba and Wave-Themed Fittings

The katana is fitted with a matte black round tsuba featuring a wagon-wheel spoke openwork design. The openwork construction gives the guard a lightweight visual character while adding a distinctive traditional-inspired detail to the sword.

The Fuchi and Kashira are made with black iron and feature a coordinated wave theme. A gold-color flower Menuki provides a contrasting decorative accent beneath the handle wrapping.

Gold-Flecked Lacquered Saya

The Saya features a brilliant lacquered wooden finish decorated with subtle gold flecks. The combination of the reflective lacquer surface and gold detailing gives the scabbard an elegant appearance while complementing the black and gold handle.

A bull horn Koiguchi and metal Kojiri provide contrasting details at the mouth and end of the Saya. The light tan/beige patterned woven Sageo is finished with a decorative knot and elegant hanging tassels.

Traditional Hand-Forged Construction

This katana is produced using a traditional hand-made process, including hand forging, hand polishing, and hand assembly. The full tang construction, bamboo Mekugi, genuine rayskin, and traditional Hineri-Maki wrapping contribute to the overall construction and appearance of the sword.

The Tang comes without an inscription by default. A blade or Tang engraving can be added free of charge upon buyer request.
