Chinese Qilin (Kirin) Qing Dao Sword - Damascus Folded Steel Blade
Embrace the symbol of kindness and harmony with this magnificent Chinese Qilin (Kirin) Qing Dao Sword. The Qilin is a propitious mythical beast in ancient China, said to appear before the arrival of an illustrious ruler. Our meticulously crafted Dao brings the power and grace of this legend to life.
Unmatched Artistry and Quality
Blade Craftsmanship: This sword features a Damascus folded steel blade that is both beautiful and functional. The steel has been heated treated and oil quenched to provide exceptional durability, and then finished with traditional hand polishing. This process brings out the exquisite, visible layer patterns (HADA) of the steel. The blade also includes double bo-hi (fullers) on both sides, which aid in balancing the sword and reducing its overall weight.
Fittings & Materials: The Dao is fitted with stunning pure brass guard, habaki, and matching fittings, all meticulously engraved with Qilin designs and patterns. These high-quality fittings perfectly complement the elegance of the blade. The scabbard and handle are made from rich, dark black ebony wood, known for its strength and sleek finish.
Functionality: As a single-edged, curved blade, the Dao is the favored weapon for classic Chinese martial arts, excelling in chopping and slicing through targets.
