This sword is a hand-forged T10 steel katana designed around a bold dragon and samurai theme. It combines a traditional Shinogi-Zukuri blade profile with a mirror-polished finish, full-blade tempering, and distinctive dragon-themed fittings for a dramatic presentation.
The katana features a 70.50 cm blade with Yokote and a Chu-Kissaki tip. Unlike a traditionally visible Hamon blade, this model has no Hamon and is full-blade tempered and oil quenched. The mirror polish creates a clean, reflective blade surface that contrasts with the detailed dragon engraving and decorative fittings.
T10 Steel Shinogi-Zukuri Blade
The blade is forged from T10 steel and features a Shinogi-Zukuri construction. It has no Bo-Hi, a defined Yokote, and a Chu-Kissaki tip. The 70.50 cm blade is full-blade tempered and oil quenched as part of the production process.
The blade receives a mirror polish, giving it a bright and highly reflective appearance. The cutting edge is supplied very sharp and can be customized to an unsharp edge upon request.
Dragon Engraving and Themed Fittings
Dragon details are the central design element of this katana. The blade features a dragon engraving, while the alloy tsuba depicts a coiled dragon and samurai warriors in battle. The alloy fuchi also features a dragon design, creating a consistent theme across the sword.
The handle uses a resin construction with a Soaring Dragon theme. It is secured with two bamboo Mekugi and is intentionally supplied without traditional Tsuka-Ito wrapping or Menuki, giving the handle a distinctive decorative appearance.
Piano Black Saya with Dragon Engraving
The katana is paired with a piano black finished saya featuring dragon engraving. The deep black surface provides a strong visual contrast against the mirror-polished blade and complements the dragon-themed fittings. A black sageo completes the scabbard.
Hand-Forged and Traditionally Handmade
This katana is produced through a traditional handmade process that includes hand forging, hand polishing, and hand assembly. The full tang construction is complemented by a brass Habaki and brass Seppa.
