The blade is clay tempered and oil quenched, with a full tang construction secured by two bamboo Mekugi. From the brass wave-themed fittings to the deep olive-green and bronze-black Saya, each element is designed to create a cohesive Japanese sword aesthetic.

T10 Steel Blade with Genuine Choji Hamon

The blade is forged from T10 steel in the Shinogi-Zukuri style. It features a defined Yokote and an O-Kissaki, while the absence of a Bo-Hi gives the blade a clean and substantial appearance.

A genuine Choji Hamon is produced through clay tempering followed by oil quenching. The blade is then finished with Hazuya polishing to bring out the Hamon and surface details of the polished steel.

Cutting Edge: The standard blade is very sharp. An unsharp version can be requested as a customization.

Genuine Japanese Silk Tsuka-Ito

The handle is wrapped with genuine silk Ito from Japan in a rich gold color. The silk cord is applied using traditional Hineri-Maki, creating a neat and tightly structured diamond-patterned handle wrap.

Beneath the wrapping is antiqued genuine rayskin over a hard wood handle core. Two bamboo Mekugi secure the full tang, completing the traditional-style Tsuka construction.

Crashing Wave Katana Fittings

The fittings follow a coordinated crashing-wave motif. The tsuba features an antique dark iron appearance with carved wave details highlighted in silver and gold, creating a striking contrast against the gold-colored silk handle wrap.

Antique-Style Olive Green and Bronze Saya

The wooden Saya features an antique textured finish combining deep mottled olive-green with bronze and black lacquer tones. The aged color palette gives the scabbard a distinctive appearance that complements the darker metal fittings.

Brass metal fittings are used at the Koiguchi, Kojiri, and Kurikata. A matching beige woven Sageo is tied in a traditional knot and finished with decorative frayed tassels at the ends.

Traditional Hand-Made Construction

This sword is produced through a traditional hand-made process that includes hand forging, hand polishing, and hand assembly. It features a full tang, hard wood Tsuka core, genuine rayskin, two bamboo Mekugi, copper Habaki, and copper Seppa.

The Tang comes without an inscription by default. Engraving can be added to the blade or Tang free of charge upon buyer request.
