T10 steel is a high-carbon tool steel commonly selected for handmade blades. In this Tanto, the blade is clay tempered and oil quenched, producing the foundation for its genuine Notare Hamon. The blade is finished with Hazuya polishing, giving the surface a traditional hand-polished appearance.

The blade uses a Hira-Zukuri construction without a Bo-Hi. It has no Yokote and no Kissaki, giving the Tanto a clean and straightforward blade geometry consistent with its selected style.

Traditional Shirasaya Mounting

The Tanto is mounted in a natural plain wood Shirasaya. Both the handle and scabbard use a simple natural wood finish, keeping the focus on the blade rather than decorative fittings. This minimalist design gives the Tanto a traditional and understated appearance.

The handle has a natural plain wood interior and uses a single bamboo Mekugi. The blade features a full tang construction, while the Habaki and Seppa are made from brass.

Hand-Forged and Traditionally Handmade

This Tanto is produced through a traditional handmade process, including hand forging, hand polishing, and hand assembly. Each stage contributes to the individual character of the finished sword and reflects the craftsmanship involved in producing a handmade Japanese-style blade.
