This hand-forged T10 steel katana combines traditional Japanese sword-making features with a refined black and beige aesthetic. The blade is crafted in the Shinogi-Zukuri style and features a distinctive O-Kissaki, a defined Yokote, no Bo-Hi, and a genuine Choji Hamon created through clay tempering and oil quenching.

The blade receives Hazuya polishing to bring out the Hamon and blade geometry, while the full-tang construction, genuine antiqued rayskin, beige synthetic silk Hineri-Maki, and two bamboo Mekugi provide a traditional-inspired handle construction. The matte black iron fittings and glossy black lacquered hardwood Saya complete the sword with a clean and understated appearance.

Genuine Choji Hamon on a T10 Steel Blade

The blade is forged from T10 steel and traditionally clay tempered before being oil quenched. This process creates a hardened cutting edge and contributes to the visible transition between the hardened edge and the softer body of the blade. The genuine Choji Hamon features rounded, blossom-like patterns that give the blade a distinctive traditional Japanese sword appearance.

The Shinogi-Zukuri blade has no Bo-Hi, giving it a solid blade profile. A pronounced Yokote separates the main blade from the O-Kissaki tip, creating a distinctive and substantial point geometry.

Traditional-Inspired Tsuka Construction

The handle is built around a hard wood core and uses an antiqued genuine rayskin Samegawa covering. Beige synthetic silk Ito is applied in the Hineri-Maki style, creating a secure and visually balanced wrapping pattern.

Two bamboo Mekugi secure the handle assembly. The matte black iron Fuchi and Kashira match the overall fitting design, while a gold-color flower Menuki adds a subtle decorative contrast beneath the handle wrapping.

Matte Black Mokkō-Shaped Tsuba

The guard is a matte black iron Mokkō-shaped Tsuba featuring subtle heart-shaped Inome cutouts and a raised border design. Its dark finish coordinates with the black iron Fuchi and Kashira while keeping the focus on the blade and Hamon.

Glossy Black Lacquered Hardwood Saya

The Saya is made from hardwood and finished with a high-gloss black lacquer surface. A black metal end cap provides additional tip protection and structural durability, while matching metal accents are fitted along the Saya body.

A matching beige woven Sageo is tied around the Kurikata with decorative hanging ends, coordinating with the beige Tsuka-Ito for a consistent overall design.

Hand-Forged and Hand-Assembled Construction

This katana is produced through a traditional hand-made process, including hand forging, hand polishing, and hand assembly. The combination of a full tang, bamboo Mekugi, genuine rayskin, hand-applied handle wrapping, and traditional-style fittings gives the sword a handcrafted character.

The cutting edge is supplied very sharp by default and can be customized to an unsharp edge upon request.
