Customized Made Katana Sword For Our US Customer

This Katana sword was made for a US customer Jordon, he ordered this sword on 27th April, and it was completed on 20th May. This sword comes with a kobuse blade which were made of folded steel and 1095 high carbon steel, the outer steel was made of folded steel. It was folded 13 times creating 8192 layers for superior strength and flexibility. The visible tenuous undulating grain on the blade was resulted from folded repeatedly during forging. The core steel was made of 1095 steel. The whole blade was clay tempered, the beautiful real hamon on the blade was result of the differential cooling of the blade (quenching and tempering). As we can see in the following pictures, the blade and tsuka(handle) of this sword had been extended according to our customer's requestment. There are three bamboo mekugi(peg) on the handle in order to increase the security. This sword was hand polished and hand sharped by Hazuya, it is very sharp for cutting practice.
